"VERL KING
The funeral for Verl King, 68, who died Wednesday evening at his home, 2006 N. Meadowbrook, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home chapel. Paul Enabnit Sr., pastor of Davis Park Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. King was born to John and Lizzie King. He moved to Enid at an early age and attended the Enid School System. On Dec. 24, 1937 [1938], he and Monta Janet Moland [Noland] were married in Enid. King was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He worked as a union carpenter in the Enid area and belonged to the Local Union No. 763. He was also a member of Davis Park Christian Church, a trustee of the Independant Order of Odd Fellows and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Survivors include his wife, Monta; one sister, Fay [Faye] Adams, Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
