Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 1988, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Bonham for Mrs. Iona Parrish Ball. Mrs. Ball, age 91, lived in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and was a former Bonham resident. She passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 1988. Interment was made in Fannin Memorial Gardens in Bonham. Rev. C. A. Bird and Rev. Ivan Ackerman officiated.

Mrs. Ball was born December 30, 1896, in Fannin County, the daughter of Elijah Franklin Cummins and Emily Lucinda Crittenden. She married Luther James Ball on August 22, 1913 in Fannin County. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bonham.

Survivors include three sons, Leonard Ball and James Ball, both of Bonham and Jack Ball of Durant, Oklahoma; one daughter, Janis Hall of Tishomingo; one sister, Kate Woodall of New Braunfels; one brother, Earnest Cummins of Lubbock; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
