On Saturday, May 22, 2010, the Lord reached out his hand to relieve Roy Theodore Caster of his pain and suffering and took him to be with his bride, Carmela in Heaven. Roy had dealt with Alzheimer’s disease and lung cancer for the last several years while at Life Care Center in Casper.

Roy was born March 11, 1927 in Kilgore, Nebraska to Homer and Ada Caster. As a child, his family moved to Casper. As a teen, Roy was drafted into the Army in 1945, serving in Italy and Yugoslavia. While in the Army, he met his ‘love’ Carmela Leban. They married on April 2, 1947 in Garcia Italy.

After an honorable discharge from the service, Roy and his bride, Carmela, came back to the United States and settled in Casper, where Roy was a carpenter by trade for many years until he retired. His true passion in life was fishing and hunting.

Roy and Carmela had one daughter, Marina (Ron) Kraft of Casper, one granddaughter, Michelle (Young) Guerrie of Grand Junction, CO, one grandson, Ricky (Rick) Young of Casper and three great grandchildren, Mariah and Olivia Guerrie of Grand Junction and Kendrick Young of Casper.

Roy was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Glen, and a sister, Louise (Caster) Sharp and his wife, Carmela (December of 2009). Surviving siblings are, Georgetta Humphrey of Torrington, WY, Wendell of Sheridan, WY, Mardel Joy of Lingle, WY and Marvin of Casper.

Services for Roy will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Bustard’s Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Fox of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiating.
