CHARLES C HOLDER

AGENCY, M Charles Collie Holder, 97, died Wednesday, Feb 17, 1988 at a health care center in Gower, Mo.
Mr. Holder was born in Buchanan County near Saxton, Mo.
He attended school and grew up in the Gower and Frazier, Mo areas.
He married the former Dora G Giddens on March 15, 1911, who preceeded him in death on Dec. 18, 1962. After their marriage they farmed near Agency until 1916, when they moved to St. Joseph. In 1936 they moved to Kansas City, Mo and in 1940 they returned to the Agency area where they farmed and made their home.
Mr. Holder also worked for the Standard Oil Co in St. Joesph for over 17 years and also Schuster Brothers farms near Gower for several years.
He was a 50 year member of the Saxton Masonic Lodge No. 508 A.F and A.M. of St Joseph and had served as master in 1934. He also was a member of the Frazier Baptist Church.
He was preceeded in death by an infant son, Charles Holder, Jr.; a daughter, Mary E Thompson; and a sister, Jessye Giddens.
Surviving are: a son, Lawrence E. Holder, Agency; a daughter, Helen C. Gilbert, Pennsville, N. J.; a sister, Bessie D. Norman, Gower; 11 grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower. Burial will be at the Frazier Cemetery, Frazier, Mo. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. at the Hixson- Klein Funeral Home in Gower.

Charles Collie Holder was born on Febuary 21, 1890 to David William and Eldora Raye (Thompson) Holder in Buchanan County near Saxton, Missouri. He attended school in the Gower and Frazier areas.
On March 15, 1991 he was united in marriage to Dora G. Giddens. After their marriage they farmed near Agency until 1916, when they moved to St. Joseph. In 1936 they moved to Kansas City where they resided until 1940, when they returned to the Agency area where they continued farming and made their home. Collie also worked for the Standard Oil Company in St. Joseph for over 17 years and also the Schuster Brothers farm near Gower for several years.
