Fort Valley, GA - Walter Harold "Buddy" Jackson, 80, died Monday, December 8, 2014. Family will greet friends Wednesday, December 10, 2014, from 3:00PM until service time at Rooks Funeral Home, 213 West Church St. in Fort Valley. Graveside services will follow at 4:00PM in Oaklawn Cemetery, 720 S. Camellia Blvd. in Fort Valley.

Born in Fort Valley to the late Frank and Mattie Lou Jackson, Mr. Jackson was retired from the Fort Valley Fire Department, and a member of Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Elizabeth Jackson, daughters, Karen Edwards (William), Cathy Hatchett (Micky), and Beth Dixon, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Jackson and Marcus Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.

Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
