Helen Prange

Helen Prange, age 104, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Shelbina Villa in Shelbina, MO.

She was born on April 21, 1910, in Leonard, MO, the daughter of John Marcus and Anna Patton Gaines. On November 21, 1931, she was united in marriage to Emerson Prange at Plevna, MO. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1990.

Helen is survived by three sons, E.L. Prange and wife Marilyn of Alma, MO, Don Prange and wife Mary Ann of Shelbyville, MO and John Prange and wife Lori of Mertztown, PA; nine grandchildren; one step-granddaughter and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one sister Marion Stichler.

Helen was a 1927 graduate of Bethel High School and a member of the Shelbyville Christian Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, needlework, crossword puzzles, reading and playing cards.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, with burial to follow in Shelby Memorial Cemetery in Shelbyville, MO. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Shelbina on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors or Donor’s Choice.
