Leffingwell Rites Friday

Mrs. Sara E. Leffingwell, 55, died unexpectedly this morning at the Atchison Hospital, where she had been a patient since Monday.

She was born the daughter of John and Julia Brock Reinholt, Dec. 28, 1909, in Atchison. She attended schools in the Doniphan county system and married Norman Ira Leffingwell at Eldorado, Kas., in November of 1926. He was employed in the construction business and moved often.

Mrs. Leffingwell had been employed for 20 years at the Kansas Children’s Receiving Home as a housemother supervising 14 children. She attended church at KCRH.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Everett Cox, Amazonia, Mo., Mrs. Jo Ann Ehler, Big Springs, Tex., and Mrs. Donald Moring, Leads Point, N.J.; three sons, Glenn Allen Leffingwell, Stockton, Calif., Melvin Leffingwell, Lamar, Colo., and Carl Leffingwell, Tabor, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Faught, Atchison, and Mrs. Cecil Whitton, Linden Kas., Four brothers, Frank Reinholt, San Jose, Calif., Fred Reinholt, Centerfield, La., John Reinholt, Atchison, and Melvin Reinholt, Kansas City; 17 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stanton chapel with the Rev. Indlecoffer, pastor of the Carol Baptist church officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Stanton funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 9.
