Dec 31, 1948 - Nov 8, 2014 MIDWEST CITY Johnny Gene Coffey passed away on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, in Oklahoma City, OK. Born to John and Era on Dec. 31, 1948, in Ada, OK, his family moved when he was young to Midwest City, OK, where he would grow up and live most of his life. A talented three-sport athlete at Carl Albert High School, he was popular and well loved. Johnny graduated high school in 1967. After graduation, he joined the Army National Guard, later serving in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged. Johnny married Jennie Schandorf, and they had one child, Roy Christopher. Johnny found happiness in the open road and spent many years there crossing the country countless times with his truck dogs, Moe and Koty. Johnny Coffey was a free-spirited man who loved his family and friends very dearly, and he will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and sister, Marilyn. He is survived by his mother, Era; sisters, Carolyn Coffey and Cheryl Weaver; son, Roy Christopher Coffey; daughter-in-law, Victoria Reyna Coffey; grandsons, Dale, Dion, Roy, Stevie, and AJ; numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny's family would love to invite anyone who would be interested in celebrating his life to a memorial service at the Barnes Friederich Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. ---
