Ralph Richard Beasley passed away Dec. 2 at the Masonic Home in Union City, CA. He was born Jan. 16, 1919 to Maude and Cecil Beasley of Longmont, CO.
In 1937 he moved to California to attend Pasadena Jr. College, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. They were married in July 1941.
In 1943 Ralph enlisted in the Navy, serving in San Diego and in Japan. Upon discharge he attended Pepperdine College, graduating in 1950. While there he served in the naval reserve during the Korean War for Armed Forces Radio. He started his teaching career in Moorpark, CA, at the same time doing graduate work at USC. Ralph retired from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, Ca. During this time he was very active in Little League. Ralph joined the Masonic Lodge and was devoted to the Order.
Ralph was preceeded in death by his son, Brian Beasley in 2012. He is survived by son Patrick, daughters-in-law Karen and Charlene, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, sister Marilyn Guenther of San Mateo and brother Cecil of Lexington, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held December 27 at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Home Chapel at 34400 Mission Blvd., Union City, Ca. Internment will be in his family grave site in Longmont, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brian Beasley Memorial Foundation for Athletic Scholarships at Dublin High School, Dublin, CA.
