Minnie was the daughter of Ulysses Grant Copple and Etta Mae Bradley. Her parents were married on

20 Feb 1887 in Wapello Co. Iowa and Minnie was born either in Wapello Co.(census records ) or in Sullivan, Moultrie Co. , Ill. (per Washington State Death Certificate) where her grandmother had lived.

Her parents' marriage did not last and they divorced. Her father married Clara Joda Weider on

18 Dec 1888 and they had four children. Again the marriage ended in divorce. He married Juda Anna (Hobbs) Beane on 16 Oct 1924. Ulysses died aged 70 on 3 Aug 1936 and Juda on 20 Oct 1936.

Minnie's mother married D. Mack Robert Brown(David McRoberts Brown) in Ottumna,Wapello Co. and they had a son, Lafayette who died in infancy. They later moved to the Spokane, Wa. area and had several other children. Robert raised also a son from a previous marriage.

Minnie lived for years with her grandparents. Her grandfather, Elliott died in 1900 and her grandmother Mary Amelia, later re-married her first husband, Charles Taylor.

Minnie married George Frank Stevens, a native of Indiana, and her daughters, Freda and Fern were born there. The other six children were born in North Dakota. Later in life, she moved to Elk, Washington.

She was a resident of Mansion House Nursing Home (per W. State Death Certificate) in Spokane when she died in 1962.
