Lizzie is responsible for the contribution of the altar at the St Andrew's Chapel at the prestigious boarding school, Woodberry Forest School, in Virginia. The altar was donated in honor of her son, Alfred, who was a graduate of Woodberry in the Spring of 1911. Alfred drowned, in the James River, while attempting to save his younger brother, Henry, who also lost his life that August day in 1911.
