Those we lift up in prayer are his wife, Tami; daughters and sons-in-law, Megan and Cassidy Punt of Rochester, Minn., and Kaitlin and Matt Brazil of Lincoln; his parents-in-law, Bob and Kathy Sass of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Angie Smith of Omaha; niece, Morgan Smith; and nephew, Logan Smith; and countless friends.

On Nov. 15, 1980, he was united in marriage to Tami Sass at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Brett was employed by Eakes Office Plus for 18 years and Chief Automotive for 12 years until its closing. He then became self-employed with Red Crane Group, an information technology and web design company.

He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, having served on the Board of Stewards. He served as club director for the Grand Island Volleyball Club. Brett was a member of the NRA and the Grand Island Gun Club. He enjoyed golfing, volleyball, grilling and, most of all, his time spent with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
