He was the son of the late Austin and Mary Sourbeer Smeltzer.
He was a member of the St Martin in the Fields Church, Mountain Top, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
Donald retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot in 1996 and had previously worked at Bendix Corp. and RCA.
Preceding him in death was an infant brother.
Surviving are his wife, the former Bemetta Zink; a son; two daughters; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top.
