Francis "Frank" Borer, 67, of Jamesville, passed away at his home on Friday, December 5 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Utica on December 8, 1946, he was the son of Arnold and Gertrude Borer, and was raised on Edelweiss Dairy Farm in Freedom, NY. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, Class of 1969. Frank was the Founder and CEO of Petr-All Petroleum Corporation and Express Mart Convenience Stores. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. Frank was a deeply faithful individual who was passionate about his work. He also enjoyed spending time reading, winning at cards, golfing and exercising. Most importantly he cherished his time with his wife, Patti, as well as his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Patricia (Patti) Brock Borer; three daughters, Claudia (Matt) Kosty of Fayetteville, Michelle (Greg) Schaefer of Rockville Centre and Andrea (Josh) Waldman of DeWitt; son, James (Marisa) Borer of Jamesville; five sisters, MaryAnn Mallery, Mary Agnes (Warren) Wykstra, Dr. Mary Margaret Perez, Mary Catherine (Ted) Wright and Mary Suzanne (Bob Cushing) Borer; six brothers, Cyril (Nancy) Borer, Thomas (Julie Grover) Borer, James (Lucille) Borer, Paul (Vicky) Borer, John Borer and Dr. Joseph (Kimberly) Borer; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Sophia, Emma, Kathleen, Charlotte, Cain, Sienna, Dylan and Cameron; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is predeceased by his father, Arnold, in 1989; and his mother, Gertrude, in 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11 at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee Street, DeWitt. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at Holy Cross Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frank's memory to Express Mart Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 46, DeWitt, NY 13214, or Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee Street, DeWitt, NY 13214.
