Former Calvertville Woman Succumbs
Mrs. Grace Martindale, 80, a former resident of Calvertville, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday at the St. Anthony hospital at Terre Haute.
Mrs. Martindale was born June 15, 1885 in Highland township, the daughter of William R. and Mary E. Phipps Stevens. She was a member of the Calvertville Concord Baptist Church, the Worthington Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include the husband, James Martindale; a daughter, Mrs. Faye Ludwig of Terre Haute; a son, Lloyd Martindale of Bloomfield; four sisters, Mrs. Minerva Brown of Bloomfield rte 1, Mrs. Barbara Ellen Beasley of Hymera, Mrs. Leora Luther of California and Mrs. Vine Calvert of Marysville; two brothers, Issac Stephens and William Stephens of Hymera, ten grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Calvertville Concord Baptist church Sunday with Rev. Vernon Smalling and Rev. Marion Noel officiating and burial followed in the Worthington cemetery. The Jenkins and Son Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
