Mrs. Ida Brooks Parten, 94, of Highway 145 Carnesville, GA passed away Friday, December 05, 2014 at her daughter's home.
Mrs. Parten was born in Royston, GA on July 22, 1920, daughter of the late Reeves Perry and Annie Rebecca York Brooks. She was owner and operator of Ida's Cakes and Crafts and was a member of the Zidon Baptist Church but attended Hunters Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa, GA. Mrs. Parten was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wilburn (Bill) Parten.
Survivors include; sons & daughters-in-law, John & Doyie Parten of Carnesville, GA and Thomas and Glenda Parten of Royston, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Eloise Peace of Royston, GA, Oneita and Joe McElreath of Danielsville, GA and Beverly and Roger Bentley of Carnesville, GA. She is survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Parten is also survived by her best friend and baby, her little dog "Abby".
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Parten was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Denise (De-De) McElreath and two brothers, Robert and Lonnie Brooks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Parten will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 07, 2014 at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Huff, Rev. Todd West, Rev. Andy Bond and Mr. Bo Crump officiating. Interment will follow in the Zidon Baptist Church Cemetery in Royston, GA.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday evening. The family is at the home of Beverly and Roger Bentley, 3820 Highway 145, Carnesville, GA 30521.
