Eleanor Mae Frakes, 83, of St. Joseph, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at her home in St. Joseph.
She was born Nov. 8, 1921, in DeKalb, Mo., where she was a graduate of DeKalb High School. She later moved to St. Joseph where she resided most of her life.
She was a member of King Hill Christian Church and worked several years for Whitaker Cable Corp. She also was a member of the RSVP Quilting Club and a past volunteer at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Her parents, Harry and Nellie Martin preceded her in death.
Eleanor married Ben Frakes on Feb. 2, 1945, in Atchison, Kan. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a son, David Frakes, Omaha, Neb.; four daughters, Deborah Lyon, evergreen, Colo.; Mary Green, Salt Lake City, Utah; Benita Fanning, Blue Springs, Mo.; and Judy Osterloh, Salt Lake City; a brother, St. Joseph, Mo.; three sisters, all of St. Joseph; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Frakes has been cremated. A private memorial service for the immediate family will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Mo.
