Adell B. Pleasants of Ruther Glen, VA, departed this life on August 26, 2011. She was married to the late Eddie Gregory, Jr., and from this union, she is survived by her children, Evelyn Gregory, Robert L. Gregory (Gloria) and James E. Gregory. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pleasants, Sr., and from this union, she is survived by her children, Linda Flanagan (Horace) and Joseph Pleasants Jr. (Nancy); 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Isabell Freeman and Mary J. Anderson; and a brother, Edmond Baylor; one aunt, Margaret Lewis; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Baylor; a devoted friend and neighbor, Alphonso Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends. She rested at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, where a public viewing was held from 12 to 7p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 2 p.m. at Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions were directed to the Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church's Building Fund.
