He was an heir to Gersham's estate, which can be found in NY Wills, Vol B, 1796-1806, pages 361-363 for 1803 (The original page numeration, the readily available microfilm version are pages 234-235)Obadiah was not the executor of the estate, but was the first mentioned child. He received "50 pounds lawful money of New York" I am connected to the youngest son (Obadiah's youngest brother)James, who as a minor received 100 pounds. Obadiah was named for Gersham's father. I am also connected to Obadiah's daughter Elizabeth, who married Joseph Causten Platt of Poughkeepsie, and lived in Marcellus, NY. Elizabeth's sister Harriet married Isaac Platt, the founder and editor of the Poughkeepsie Eagle.
