Born October 14, 1941, in Ipswich, South Dakota, to Bruce and Anne Ruby; passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife Janice Ruby, Graham, WA; two daughters, Michelle (Michael) Sweet, Graham, WA, Tracy (Trevor) Stredicke, Spanaway, WA, one son, Troy Ruby, Graham, WA; four grandchildren, Bradley Sweet, Christopher Sweet, Haylee Stredicke, and Kyle Stredicke; his mother Anne Heitz, Aberdeen, SD; four sisters, Myrna Stillings, Salina, KS, Elda Hoffer, Roscoe, SD, Carolyn Hamak, Sturgis, SD, Mary Sorenson, Richfield, MN; three brothers, Gary Heitz, Coolidge, AZ, Warren Heitz, Aberdeen, SD, Harlan Heitz, Mina, SD; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death his father, Bruce Ruby; brother Roland Ruby; step-father Rich Heitz. He married Janice Preszler December 1959, in Ipswich, SD. He attended public school in Ipswich, then attended Northwestern Technical Institute in Minneapolis, MN. He worked on the Minuteman Program for Boeing. He was the supervisor on the first 747 in Everett, WA. He worked for Manke Lumber for many years. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, Jan 15th at 11am at Fir Lane Chapel in Spanaway.
