Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Dorothy Mae Romero Dutile, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 8:05 am at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas, LA
Dorothy, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late Edwin Romero and the former Anita Deslatte.
She is survived by her daughters, Gwendolyn M. Garcia and Pamela J. Trahan; her grandchildren, Chad Trahan, Anita Garcia, Tanya Garcia Jenkins, Jamie Trahan Bell, Manuel Garcia and Angela Garcia; her nine great grandchildren and her sisters, Florita Meyers and Shirley Derouen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Lawrence J. Dutile; her daughter, Patricia Dutile; her sons, Michael, Calvin & Carroll Dutile; sisters, Larlen Landry and Armina Theriot; brothers, Witlz and James Romero.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited by Shirley Derouen and Phyllis Aucoin at 7:00 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Chad Trahan, Manuel Garcia, Matthew Bell, John Trahan, Jr., Eric Landry and Kevin Theriot, Sr.
