Mrs. Christine Williams Avery, 90, of Dublin, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 25,
2014.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the chapel of Townsend
Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin, Georgia. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs United Methodist
Church Cemetery in Adrian, Georgia. Rev. Wesley Moye and Dr. Joel Dent will officiate. The
family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Townsend Brothers
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Avery was born on November 7, 1924 in Johnson County. She was the daughter of the late
Charlie and Lillie Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Flanders
Avery and son, Charles W. Avery along with numerous brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Avery was a faithful member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and active in the Pine
Forest Senior Foresters. She was retired from Oxford Manufacturing Company.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Avery of St. Simons Island and her son Carl F. Avery
(Luann) of Dublin. She is also survived by grandson Chad Avery (Natalie) of Parrish, Florida and
granddaughters Christine Ruffo of Silver Spring, Maryland, Amanda Cooper (Sam) of Norcross,
Georgia, and Jessica Avery of Wilmore, Kentucky. Surviving great-granddaughters are Addison
and Emerson Avery of Parrish, Florida. Surviving siblings are Sarah Hutcheson, Ola Arnold, and
Billy Williams (Martha). Surviving daughter-in-law is Glenda Avery of Swainsboro, Georgia.
Other survivors include sister-in-law Myrtice Williams, as well as Carol Hartley of East Dublin,
mother of Mrs. Avery's grandson, Chad Avery, and numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Poplar Springs United Methodist
Church of Adrian, Georgia. The address is P.O. Box 165 Adrian, Georgia 31002.
