Anna R. Goretski, (nee Hoody) age 99, longtime resident of Locksley (Hamburg), New York passed away June 15, 2014 in Amherst, NY.
Anna was born in Port Austin on April 18, 1915 to the late John & Rosa (Rybak) Hoody.
Anna was a seamstress for Niagara Apparel Company and retired from New Era Cap Company. She was an active member of several local recreational clubs, enjoyed painting, day trips and other craft projects.
Anna is survived by a daughter Bernadine M. Marshall; Grandsons: Michael G. Marshall and James J. Marshall; Great Granddaughters: Kelsey Ann Marshall and Katelin Briann Marshall.
Anna was preceded in death by her son Harold Goretski and daughter Gloria Goretski.
Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Port Austin with Fr. Craig Carolan presiding. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with scripture services at 7:00 p.m. at the MacAlpine Funeral Home, Bad Axe and Monday at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Memorials may be offered to the donor’s choice.
