Boulden, William Edward “Ed”, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, November 23, 2014, in Durham, NC. Ed was born on May 27, 1935 in Richmond, the son of Samuel J. and Julia Burtchett Boulden. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, and attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, where he served in the cadet corps and played in the cadet marching band, the famous “Highty-Tighties.” He received his B.S. from University of Richmond and an M.S. in Business from Clarkson College. He was an avid Hokies and Spiders fan. Ed worked for more than 30 years at Reynolds Metals Co., where he was an accountant and CPA. He was a member of St. Benedict’s Parish as a boy, and at St. Edward’s for many years as an adult. He was always especially thankful for the many family, friends, and colleagues who helped the family with therapy for his disabled son, Robert Carleton “Carty” Boulden, who predeceased him. He loved family and friends, especially children, and he was a devoted father and grandfather.
