Nora was the fourth child of Robert R. Hanes and his wife, Margaret F. Brown. Nora has one daughter, Catherine (Tom) Dovidio. Cathy and Tom have three children. Nora's death was due to cancer.

Born December 14, 1949 in Chicago to Robert and Margaret (nee Brown) Hanes, Nora passed away peacefully Saturday, November 29, 2014. Nora was a loving mother to daughter, Cathy (Chip) Dovidio; beloved grandmother to Andrew, Julia, and Lauren; and sister to Frank (Lynne) and Sharon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of prayers at 11 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake with procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Chicago. ..."
