Margaret was a daughter of Rev. Abijah Brooks Crain and Ellender(Cosby) Crain.
She was born in Tippah County, MS, but moved to Holly Springs, Marshall County,
MS as a small child and then to Toone, Hardeman County, TN.

Margaret became the bride of Ephraim McGlothlin on 12-Mar-1857 in Hardeman
County. Margaret and Ephraim had two daughters: Martha Elizabeth and Mary
Ellen McGLOTHLIN

Pvt. Ephraim McGlothlin was on the Roll of Capt. Robert H. Wood's Company, 22nd
TN Confederate Army. Ephraim died from Civil War injuries on 7 Sept., 1862, at
McMinnville, Warren County, TN.

Margaret and her daughters moved into George Parnel and Elizabeth (McGlothlin)
McClendon's home to help take care of Elizabeth who was ill. George and his
first wife, Elizabeth (McGLOTHLIN) McClendon had five children before Elizabth
died. They were: Lucinda, Puss, Jacob Johnson, Nicy J., and Eliza.

Immediately following Elizabeth's death, George Parnel McGlothlin and Margaret
were married on 8-Feb-1868.

Margaret and George had two daughters--Nancy Catherine and Margaret Cordelia
McCLENDON.
