Betty Wegleitner, 89, of Williston, formerly of Epping, North Dakota, passed away Saturday evening, November 22, 2014, at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston.

Betty Mae Wegleitner was born on July 10, 1925 in Portland Oregon, daughter of Emma Williams. She was adopted by Mr. & Mrs. Robert Mara. She grew up and completed 7th grade at Central School in Williston, ND.

Betty Mae Wegleitner was united in marriage to Paul John Wegleitner II in Epping, ND at St Mary's Catholic Church in July of 1942. They lived in Epping until the fall of 1970 and then moved to Williston and made their home raising the four youngest children of 15. Betty worked at various offices, businesses and schools as a cleaning lady and custodian. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was involved in Catholic Daughters of America.

Surviving Betty are her children, son, Robert (Sharon) Wegleitner, their daughters Heidi Bibler and Kari (Brian) Philp, their children Ty Chandler and Josie Philp, who all reside in Billings, MT; son, Paul (Nicki) Wegleitner, Williston, their children, Paul Nick Wegleitner, Pierre, SD, and his daughter Chasity Wegleitner and her children Cohan and Channing, and his son Austin Wegleitner, both from Williston, Michael (Stacey) Wegleitner, Williston, their children Steve Wegleitner, Tyler Wegleitner, and Mary Wegleitner; Lisa Wegleitner, Fargo and Christopher Wegleitner, Williston; son, LaVerne (Fonda) Wegleitner, Hesperia, CA, their children, Debbie Wilder, Cindy Tipton, Kandy Reese, Michelle Parker, Christine Truex, Alice Hubbard, and their grandchildren, Brett Wilder, Ryan Wilder, Jeremy Tipton, Sean Reese, Amber McMains, Michael Truex, Carolyn Morenas, D.J. Parker, Ali Truex, Sonya Truex, Anamya Truex, Emilee Truex, and their great grandchildren, Cayden McMains, Livia McMains, David Reese and Evynn Truex; daughter, Betty Rose (Danny) Rogers, Buckeye, AZ, their daughter, Andrea (Dan) Hartman and their children, Maeve and Neil of Littleboy, AZ; daughter, Kathleen (Lenny) Gartner, New England, ND and their children, Francis (Rachael) Gartner, Glendale, AZ, their child, Joseph; Adrian J, (AJ) Gartner, Peoria. AZ, Sheila (Tom) Walter, South Heart, ND and their children Preston and twins, Ava & Evan; daughter, Donna Mae (Leo) Kubisiak, Crete, NE and their daughters, Leslie (Joel) Ley, Alpha, NJ, Danelle (Jay) Louder, Kary, NC and their children Adelane, Mac Lane & Katherine and, Kaylee (Doug) Anderson, Granger, IA and their children Maddisyn, Andrew & Ryanne; daughter Mary (Mark) Nygard, Hazen, ND and their boys John Nygard, Hazen, James (Tammy) Nygard, Richland, WA and their children, Taryn, Cade & Bailey; son John (Kathy) Wegleitner, Dickinson and their boys Steve (Jodie) Wegleitner, Zimmerman, MN and their children, Brooke and Gabriella; Chad (Pam) Wegleitner, Dickinson and their children, Madison and Maci; son in law, Steve Ike, and his children Jon Ike, Williston ND and Amanda Ike, Fargo, ND: daughter, Lorraine Wegleitner, Dickinson and her son Nathan (Mandy) Wegleitner, Dickinson, there children Taylor, Madison & Haylee; daughter Karen (Rod) Heller, Wauwatosa, WI and their children, Lauren Beth, Brittany Jade and Mariah Leigh, all of Wauwatosa, WI; daughter Carol Jean (Keith) Bruce, Williston, ND and their children, Josh (Krista) Bruce and their son Gunnar and Jacob Bruce, all of Williston, ND. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, one sister-in-law and one brother-in law. Betty had 34 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Betty was proceeded in death by her husband, Paul Wegleitner II; sister-in-law Verna Wegleitner; great grandson Wade Parker (who was one of the 19 Prescott Hot Shots that died in the Yarnell Fire in June, 2013); nephew, Kenny Wegleitner, grandson, Brant Hubbard; great granddaughter, Crystal Hubbard; sister-in-law Rose Graves; sister-in-law, Marion Wegleitner; brother-in-law, Lambert Wegleitner; daughter, Debra Ike; daughter, Margaret Wegleitner; son, Joseph Wegleitner; daughter, Wanda Jo Wegleitner.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston. Father Russell Kovash will officiate.

An Evening Vigil with a Rosary will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the Everson-Coughlin Memorial Chapel.

Friends may call at Everson-Coughlin Funeral home on Tuesday, December 2, from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM and for the hour preceding the service at the church on Wednesday.

Memorials can be sent to St. Joseph's School in Memory of Betty Wegleitner.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery will follow the service.
