MRS. PIERSON DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. William E. (Hilma J.) Pierson, 73, 126 Van Ave., died at 12:30 p.m. Monday [Aug.19] at Major Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.

Mrs. Pierson was born Nov. 14, 1884, in Osceola, Neb., a daughter of Peter and Matilda (Danielson) Nelson. She spent most of her early life in Osceola where she taught school for several years after graduating from York College at York, Neb. On March 2, 1910, she married Mr. Pierson and they moved to Shelbyville in 1941.

Surviving with the husband are four [should be 5] children, Wallace E. Pierson, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Allison and Clinton R. Pierson, of this city, Byron W. Pierson of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Palmer (Leona) Attleson of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Adolph Nelson of Omaha and Oscar Nelson of Denver; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Tilberg of Stromsburg, Neb., Mrs. Gust Boden of Osceola and Mrs. Fred Senff of York, Neb.; and eight grandchildren. Two brothers and four sisters preceded in death.

Mrs. Pierson was a charter member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church here.

Rev. Donald E. Levenhagen will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ewing Mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
