Lt. Col. William Orrin McPherson (Retired) went to be with his Lord on November 26, 2014 at the age of 84, after a long battle with Alzheimer's and complications of pneumonia. He was a loving and devoted husband of 61 years to Rose McKno McPherson. His guidance and Christian example still inspires their six daughters, Diane Marie Foster, Rose Kathleen Fontenot (Wayne), Tina Nureen Smith, Erin Colleen Coulon (Michael), Karen Maureen Manning (Michael) and Tricia Ann Williams (David). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verstille and Velma McPherson and sister, Velma Glynn Sudyka. He earned his Masters from LSU and retired as Assistant Director of Baton Rouge Vocational Technical in 1991. He was a long time member and active Deacon of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir. Every family member can boast about the special touches he gave each home in repairs and woodworking skills. Special thanks to the Louisiana War Veterans Home and the staff at Lane Memorial Hospital for their loving care and attention. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home Saturday, November 28, 2014 at 12pm until the service at 2pm, conducted by Reverend Joey Besson. Burial will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park immediately following the service.
