Mr. Roy Wilton “Will” Tiller, age 73, husband of Brenda Hamm Tiller of 1333 West End Rd., Chester, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Tiller was born in Comer, GA, April 2, 1941, a son of the late Tommy and Nancy Booth Tiller. He graduated from Harding High School in Charlotte and attended UNC-C. Mr. Tiller retired from Duke Power and also retired from the NC Dept. of Transportation. A veteran of the US Army, he also served in the North Carolina National Guard. He was currently serving as Master of Sandy River Masonic Lodge #207 and had served as Past Master of Mint Hill Masonic Lodge #742 in North Carolina. He was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church and was first married to the late Judy Grayson Tiller.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Nicole Ballew and husband Kemp of Fairview, NC; a son, Van Tiller and wife Angie of Marshville, NC; a step-son, Darryl Sumner and wife Susan of York; a sister, Gerri Taylor and husband Gerald of Matthews, NC; eight grandchildren, Jesse Ballew, Nick Ballew, Allison Kelly, Nicole Rowell, Aaron Cooper, Jerrett Tiller, Tori Sumner and Dalton Sumner; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 Monday, December 1, 2014 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Bishop. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Donnie Adams, Gary Hamm, Doug Blackston, Jerrett Tiller, Jesse Ballew, and Brent Grayson.

Member of the Sandy River Masonic Lodge #207 are asked to serve as the honorary escort.

Visitation will be held 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday evening at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.
