Rev. Leonard Lee Morgan, age 83, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at his residence with his loving family by his side. A native of McDowell County, Rev. Morgan was born April 21, 1931 and was the son of the late Pink Ashbury Morgan and Ruth West Morgan. He retired from American Thread Company after 35 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran honorably serving in the Korean War. Rev. Morgan was Pastor of Calvary Temple Full Gospel Church for 30 years. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceding Rev. Morgan in death was a daughter, Sharon Elaine Morgan.

Saddened by the loss of Rev. Morgan is his wife of 60 years, Mary Dalton Morgan; two sons, Darrell L. Morgan and wife Nancy of Lake Orion, Michigan and Roger Morgan of Morganton; one daughter, Sherlene Morgan of Morganton; five grandchildren: Max Morgan, Cherish Stevens, Tiffany Williams, Ryan Moore and Heather Johnston; eight great grandchildren: Taylor McNeely, Karter Causby, Rodney Stevens III, Brinkley Stevens, Declan Morgan, Becca Stevens, Dylan Johnston and Elise Johnston.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 3:00 pm, in Westmoreland Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. Fred Stapleton and Danny Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow the service in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
