Almost immediately after his marriage, Mr. Allen enlisted in Company B, 40th Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and served three years, until honorably discharged at the close of the war.
In 1885 Mr. Allen moved with his family to Kansas and lived there for twenty years, when he came to Nebraska, but in 1917 he returned to Kansas and lived there until 1929, since which time he has made his home with his son, Walter.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Beaver City. The body was taken to Norton, from whence it was conveyed by train to Wichita, Kans., for burial beside his late wife.
