DOWN MEMORY'S LANE EXCERPTS FROM THE TIMES-DEMOCRAT 8-20-1909

DOUBLE KILLING BY LIGHTNING.
Mrs George[Emma Reeves]Bradley and babe in arms were struck by lightning and killed instantly near Peck Ridge Sunday afternoon. It seems that the family of father George Washington, mother Emma{Reeves} and little daughter Cora Belle and babe Coin had been visiting relatives not far away and were returning to their home on Three Mile Road not far from W.H. Peck's when they were caught in the terrible rain about 6 O'clock.
The mother Mrs. Bradley with babe in arms and her little daughter behind her, while her husband Mr George Washington Bradley rode ahead about 10 feet ahead of them.
The bolt of lightning struck Mrs. Bradley first killing her, the babe and the horse, and badly shocking the little girl Cora Belle, but not fatally. The husband was unhurt but terribly shocked.
The parties are poor people and we think came from Bath Co Ky as the burial took place at Mt Gilead Bath Co Ky on Monday.
