Carlota Aden, 75, of Las Vegas, passed peacefully Nov. 9, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was an amazing, loving wife, mother, sibling and friend. Carlota was born in Jordan Valley, Ore., and graduated from Othello High School, Wash. Soon after graduation, she married and dedicated her early life to raising her family while traveling around the country as a military wife. She moved to Las Vegas in 1976 where, once her kids were in school full time, she developed a successful career in retail buying, working for Sam's Town, MGM Grand and a lengthy stint with Circus Circus properties in both Las Vegas and Laughlin. She married the love of her life and jitterbug partner, Don Aden, in 1990. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed playing bridge several times a week, spending time with her family and attending sports and school functions with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Aden. She is survived by her children, Donna Palladino, Lynn Purdue and Christopher Palladino of Las Vegas, and Robert (Diane) Palladino of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and siblings, Gloria (Gary) Kanenwisher, John (Carol) Lotz, Eldon (Dorena) Metzer and Jessica (Bob) Jahns. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7521 W. Lone Mountain Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, www.candlelightersnv.org
