Eva Louise Blythe Carroll, age 91, of Oneonta, Alabama passed away at her residence on November 23, 2014 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Carroll operated Sun City Tanning Salon for 16 years retiring in 2005. Everyone including her customers knew her as "Granny". She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She loved her dog Susie. She was a member of Cove United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by parents, James Roscoe and Alma Allison Blythe; husband, Rev. John Truman Carroll; brother, Woodrow Blythe; sisters, Edith Layfield and Barbara Allcorn; three grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by son, John R. Carroll of Attalla; daughters, Barbara Roberts (Tommy), Jean Dunn (Layman), Loretha Kent (Eddie) and Mary Keenan (Mike) all of Oneonta; brother, Dwight Blythe of Clay; brother-in-law, Ross Carroll of Gadsden; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Bro. Ken Cooper will officiate funeral services on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11AM from Valley Chapel Funeral Home with burial following at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Carroll will lie in state at Valley Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 5PM until 8PM and on Wednesday from 8AM until service time.
