John G. "Jack" Beaven, age 91 of St. Mary, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born on May 22, 1923 in St. Mary, KY. Mr. Beaven was the co-owner of Beaven Brothers Grocery, a retiree of Cowen Manufacturing Company, and was a life-long member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Sr., and Grace Hill Beaven; brothers, Charles and Hill Beaven.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Rita Ann O'Daniel Beaven, of St. Mary, KY; four sons, Johnny (Glinda) Beaven, of Springfield, KY, Michael (Glenda) Beaven, of Harrodsburg, KY, David (Martha) Beaven, of Lawrenceburg, KY, Steven Beaven, of Lexington, KY; daughter, Judy (Peter) Johnson, of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Mike Beaven, of Bowling Green, KY, Joe Lee Beaven, of Lexington, KY; sister, Theresa Martin Craig, of Lebanon, KY; seven grandchildren, Laurie Carrico, Mathew, Christopher, Derick, John and Lindsey Beaven, Jessica Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Derick, Morgan and Peyton Carrico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church, celebrated by Rev. Jim Graf. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

He was born on May 22, 1923 in St. Mary. Beaven was the co-owner of Beaven Brothers Grocery, a retiree from Cowen Manufacturing Company, and was a life-long member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, and brother.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, John G. Sr. and Grace Hill Beaven; and brothers, Charles and Hill Beaven.
Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Rita Ann O'Daniel Beaven of St. Mary; four sons, Johnny (Glinda) Beaven of Springfield, Michael (Glenda) Beaven of Harrodsburg, David (Martha) Beaven of Lawrenceburg, and Steven Beaven of Lexington; a daughter, Judy (Peter) Johnson of Louisville; two brothers, Mike Beaven of Bowling Green and Joe Lee Beaven of Lexington; a sister, Theresa Martin Craig of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Laurie Carrico, Matthew, Christopher, Lindsey, Derek, and John Beaven, and Jessica Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Derrick, Morgan, and Peyton Carrico.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at St. Charles Catholic Church. Rev. Jim Graf and Rev. John Lesousky officiated.
Pallbearers were Johnny Beaven, Michael Beaven, David Beaven, Steven Beaven, Peter Johnson, and Jeff Carrico.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
