Norvell Lee Maynard

Norvell Lee Maynard, 61, of 105 Laurel Terrace, Beckley, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in a Beckley hospital following an apparent heart attack.

Born July 24, 1938, in Bud, he was the son of the late Claude F. Maynard Sr. and Edna Lester Maynard.

Mr. Maynard was a retired road construction worker. He was a member of the Beckley Moose Lodge and Teamsters Union, and had been a resident of Beckley most of his life.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gid Maynard.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nyla Alley Maynard; a son, Steve Maynard and his wife, Heather, of Beckley; three daughters, Leigh Stover and her husband, Raymond, of Beckley, Lee Ann Lowe and her husband, James, of Beckley and Heather Meadows and her husband, Don, of Beckley; three brothers, Jim Maynard of Covel, Fred Maynard of Beckley and Jess Maynard of Bud; two sisters, Louise Hatter of Amherst, Va., and Linda Arcidy of Bedford, N.H.; and three grandchildren, Steven Maynard and J.R. and Zach Lowe.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Otis Clyburn officiating. Burial will follow in Bud Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
