Rosary service for Mac Davis, Jr., 77, of Ransom Canyon, will be 6 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 in Englunds Chapel. A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in Slaton's St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Nicolas Rendon officiating. Interment with Naval military honors will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Mac was born in Palmer, Texas on Feb. 5, 1936. He passed from this life Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He previously lived in Lockney where he graduated from Lockney High School in 1954. Shortly after graduation, Mac enlisted with the United States Navy and served a twenty year career, retiring in 1974. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Phyllis Falk on May 28, 1960 in New London, Connecticut and preceded him in death on May 31, 1986. Mac moved to Ransom Canyon in 1974. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharist minister and acolyte at both, and was a member of Slaton's Knights of Columbus. His survivors include his son, Michael Davis of Bedford; daughters, Debbie Davis of Slaton and Denise Stovall and husband, Grant of Lubbock; brothers, Tommy Davis of Lockney, Raymond Davis of Bedford; sisters, Elizabeth Hernandez of Lockney, Frances Carlson of Lubbock, June Taylor of Plainview and Nancy Hayes of Austin; along with six grandchildren.
