Thursday, December 19, 1895, at the home of the bride's parents in Howard township, Dan T. Berger and Etta M. Amidon were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. Logsdon, of the M.E. Church. These young people are quite well known in Toledo and Howard township. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Amidon, and is held in high esteem by her many friends. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Berger, and is a young man of industrious habits, and has hosts of friends who wish him well. They began housekeeping in the Amos Pugh house, not far from where his father formerly resided. They have the best wishes of all their friends.

Etta May Berger nee Amidon was born August 19, 1874 and died May 10,1908. She was married to Dan T. Berger December 19, 1896. One child was born unto them who preceded her to the better world December 3, 1898. Sister Berger was converted in early life and united with the Methodist church in Toledo, later she transferred to the Methodist church at Fairview and has been a member ever since. She was sick for ten weeks during which time she suffered greatly but bore her sufferings with patience and fortitude. She was reconciled to death and died in faith amid songs of praise. All that could be done was done for her and her now bereaved companion has the sympathy of all. The funeral services were held at Fairview church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.W. Martin assisted by Rev. Mershon and burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Toledo. There were many beautiful floral offeriings and a large attendance at the funeral. The pall bearers were: Henry Reinig, Walter Pugh, George Jackson, Sam, Jim and Frank Berger.
