She was the daughter of the late David Thomas and Mary Grogan Bailiff and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Burling, in 1990, and five brothers, Spurgeon Bailiff, George Bailiff, Dixon Bailiff, Roe Bailiff and Paul Bailiff.

Mrs. Burling was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.

Graveside services and interment were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002 in the Christus Garden of Happy Valley Memorial Park.
