James "Jeep" Doyle died suddenly Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, after a long and blessed life. He was 101 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, James Joseph Doyle; mother, Carrie Lynn (McGraw); and brother, Charles Doyle. Married for 53 years to Ruth Elizabeth Pearsol, who died in 1991, he had three children, Carolyne Ruth Doyle Ressler (Richard), Dr James Stanley Doyle (Kathy) and John Rade Doyle (Debbie); 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek, where he was both an elder and deacon. Previously the oldest living member of Local 66 Operating Engineers, he retired in 1978 to care for his wife at home. Friends and family will be received at a memorial celebration of his life at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek, 550 Center New Texas Road, Plum, PA 15239. The Rev. Allan Drake will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Day Camp at Plum Creek, care of the Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek.
