Early Life: Wayne was born January 18, 1925, in Provo, Utah, to Walter Edward and Violet Catherine Christensen Clark. He grew up in Georgetown, Bear Lake County, Idaho; served in the Army in World War II, then served a mission in Denmark for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Wayne graduated from Brigham Young University and received a Ph.D. from Texas A&M. On September 19, 1951, he married Colleen Clark in the Salt Lake Temple for time and eternity; he was married for 62 years to the love of his life. He was a professor of Economics at BYU for over 30 years and loved teaching and working with the students. He was also a Department Chair, Director of Cooperative Education and Associate Director of the BYU Jerusalem Center. He served in many callings in the Church and had a lifelong commitment to the gospel. He worked hard to provide for his seven children and was a wonderful example to them. He loved to work in his garden and to play softball, racquetball, and golf. Wayne Walter Clark passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2014. He was 89 years old.
