MARION - Cecil Sparks, 82, of 703 Asheboro Circle, formerly of Rebels Creek community, died Sunday at his residence. He was a member of Rebels Creek Baptist Church and the son of the late Gaither and Mary Edwards Sparks. He retired from the state highway department. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Ledford Sparks; three daughters,
Elizabeth Schwegel of Millville, N.J., Judy Smith of Bakersville and Betty Stevenson of Marion; two sons, Bill Sparks of Orlando, Fla., and Bob Sparks of Marion; a sister, Lela Boone of Bakersville; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The Revs. William
Keller and Millard Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Rebels Creek Cemetery. The family will receive from 7 to 9 p.rn. Tuesday at the funeral home.
