Lucian Leaf was born July 1, 1825 in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Frederick Leaf and Hannah Metzgar Leaf.
He left Pottstown and migrated west about 1850 and married Isabelle Brown, they had four children: Julia, Mary R, Frederick D and Hannah Aravesta. After Isabelle died about 1862 Lucian then married Caroline Morgan about 1863, they had six children: James Morgan, William George, Edmund (Edward), Franklin, Clara Anna and Laura.
Lucian served in the Civil War and became the postmaster for Derry Station, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
Lucian died August 14, 1882 at the age of 57.
