Carol J. Carter, 81, of Elmwood died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1929, in Elmwood to H.J. and Helen G. (Buxton) Weyhrich. She married William Henry "Hank" Carter on June 4, 1950. He preceded her in death in April 1975. She later married Dean Miles.

Surviving are four children, Terry Reeder of Metamora, Bert Carter of Trivoli, Steve (Kathy) Carter of Canton and Connie (Randy) Cook of LaFollette, Tenn.; brother, Robert (Eileen) Weyhrich of Trivoli.

Carol worked at Whitney & Associates years ago. She then worked many years as bookkeeper and did upholstery work for Hank's business, Carter's Autobody in Elmwood. She was a school bus driver for Elmwood Community School District for 24 years and was a lifelong seamstress.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
