First Class Petty Officer Steve Baumgartner FC1 (SW), 28, of Palatine, Ill., stationed with the Navy in Chicago, formerly of Oelwein, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Kansas City, Kan., following a street luge accident. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, by the Rev. Leo Combs-Lay. Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein and one hour before services Friday at the church.
