Willie 'Snooks' Dawkins, 98, passed away November 19, 2014 at Methodist Hospice Residence. She was a member of Highland Heights Methodist Church for over 75 years. Snooks retired from Highland Heights Methodist Church as their Church Visitor where she had received the Woman of the Year Award in 2005 as a member of the Highland Heights United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Alfred Jackson Canon and Isla Canon and her husband of 75 years, Rufus "Buddy" Dawkins Jr. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Jack, Sledge, and Alfred Canon and sisters Dorothy Carter Boswell, Mary Esther Hinson, and Grace Canon Davis.

She is survived by Suzanne (Nick) Owens. Snooks is also survived by her sister-in- law, Betty Arwood, niece Judy (Mike) Schoggen, nephew Al (Sybil) Canon and many other special nieces and nephews, family, and loving friends.

The family would like to thank her Ave Maria family for their love, Methodist Hospice Residence and her very special devoted friends, Deborah Thomas and Kari Sullivan for their never ending love.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highland Heights Methodist Church or the Ave Maria Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 24 followed by a Funeral Service all at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
