Born in Minnesota, he move to Shasta County in 1948 from Wisconsin.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was truck driver and a member of the Sis-Q-County Oldies But Goodies Car Club in Mount Shasta.
Survivers include wife Flora; son Robert Jr. of Redding; daughters Tami Freeze of Milpitas, Tracy of Sacramento and Taryn Franchi of Dixon; sisters Phyllis Reginato of McCloud and Lois Duroda of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and five grandchildren.
