Frances T Pennoyer, the last surviving child of J P Morgan, died yesterday after a stroke at her home in Locust Valley, Long Island. She was 92 years old.
Mrs Pennoyer was the third of the financier's four children. She was born in Manhattan on 17 January 1897. Unlike her brothers, who were sent to Harvard, she was educated by governesses, who taught her to speak French, German and Italian fluently.
She married Paul G Pennoyer, a partner in the Manhattan law firm of White & Case, who died in 1970. She was a former board member of the Glen Cove, LI, Visiting Nurses Association, a fellow of the Pierpont Morgan Library and a founding member of Green Vale (LI) School, a private day school.
Surviving are two sons, Paul G Jr., of Locust Valley and Robert, of Katonah NY; four daughters, Virginia Livermore of San Rafael CA, Frances Schilling of Woodside CA, Katherine O'Donnell of Marlborough MA and Jesse Snyder of Greenwich CT; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
