John was born on February 15, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Mildred Malt.
John is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 28 years, Gail and their son, Chad and his wife, Kimberly.
He graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1970 and was a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Degree in Finance/Real Estate.
Five years ago, John embraced the opportunity of working alongside his brother Bob at Malt Village Homes and moved to Hot Springs Village where he was an active member of the Board of Realtors and the Chamber Of Commerce.
For 10 years, John was a successful commercial and multi-family builder in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was also a builder/developer/general contractor in Fort Myers, Florida of the following award-winning communities which include: Parkwoods, The Hamlet, Cedarbend and Mission Monterey.
John was a loving person filled with happiness and laughter and was respected by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but the memory of his goodness will last forever.
In addition to his parents, John was also predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Beres (Malt).
He is survived by Ashleigh and Charlsie from a prior marriage along with 7 siblings, Bob (Julie), Dick (Kathy), Carol, Patricia, Meryl, Michelle and David (Lisa) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hot Springs Village, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial services and burial to be held in Fort Myers.
